The environment
The Cooperativa Agrícola Catalana Sant Isidre del Perelló is the economic, labor, and cultural engine of a town deeply rooted in its land.
Our crops represent the historical legacy of Mediterranean culture.
El Perelló is located in the Baix Ebre region, in the south of Catalonia. Its geographical position means that its lands are bathed by the Mediterranean and sheltered by the Serra de Boix. This variety of landscapes allows for a great diversity of fruits with unique characteristics.
Tourists are also drawn by this variety of landscapes and come to visit El Perelló and the surrounding nature. The endless paths that run through our fields attract a large number of hikers and cyclists every year.
Our role as a cooperative is to strengthen these connections between visitors and the land they walk on. That is why we make the products of our farmers available to them, both on our website and in our physical store, so they can enjoy a fully immersive experience of the region.

Foundation
The Cooperativa Agrícola del Perelló was established in 1957 as a result of the effort and determination of a group of local farmers to gain control over the means of production, processing, and marketing of the fruits of their land, in order to achieve the best price for their produce and the proper value of their, often undervalued, work.
1962
The beginnings
With their own hands and rudimentary tools, the founding members began the construction of the cooperative building, which was to house an oil mill, a winery, and a warehouse for carobs and almonds—products that could be stored and sold at the most favorable moment or when prices were at their peak.
1980
The 80s
Around 1962, the cooperative building had already taken on its current appearance, although in the 1980s—the beginning of the entity’s golden age—the warehouses had to be expanded to accommodate carobs, almonds, fertilizers, and plant protection products.
1991
Changes to the mill
In 1991, the traditional olive mill (with stones and mats) was replaced by a continuous extraction mill with the capacity to process 24,000 kg of olives per day. Ten years later, this was replaced by another mill capable of processing 120,000 kg per day.
2000
The work
The cooperative has also suffered the effects of the decline of farming as a profession and of certain policies that encouraged the abandonment of vineyard cultivation, but the members continue the work begun by the founders, adapting to new times and new needs.

The present day
Our goal is to produce products of the highest quality, and our commitment is to do so in an environmentally responsible way, collaborating with other cooperatives and companies to promote both local trade and sustainable international trade.
